Awards show off business

Sunshine Coast Daily - Caloundra Weekly - - NEWS -

THE 102 finalists have been announced for the 23rd annual Sunshine Coast Business Awards.

Finalists span 24 business, seven excellence and three individual categories and come from locations across the region including Noosa, Caloundra, Nambour, Coolum, Mooloolaba and Maroochydore.

The diverse range of businesses making the cut in 2017 includes some amazing businesses started and run by young entrepreneurs, businesses with growing export markets and businesses excelling in niche markets.

The calibre of entries this year has made the judges decisions about finalists very difficult.

Sunshine Coast Business Awards chair Jennifer Swaine said the finalists will now go through a stringent judging process.

“Each year the judges have an extremely hard job, which speaks volumes for our business community,” she said.

“Our finalists will undergo a rigorous judging process over the next month that includes an interview with a panel of three judges before our winners are announced at the gala dinner in November.”

Winners will be announced at the annual dinner at Novotel Twin Waters on November 18 from 6pm.

In congratulating this year’s finalists, mayor Mark Jamieson said the business community’s depth and diversity and innovative way of thinking continues to impress him.

“The awards do a great job of highlighting the best and most innovative businesses we have in our region,” Cr Jamieson said.

“They have become the largest awards of their type in regional which is a huge achievement.”
