Expo shapes as a big hit

jor­gia.white@sc­news.com.au MON­STER trucks, mo­tor­cy­cles and ev­ery­thing in be­tween will be show­cased in Caloun­dra this week­end when a new expo comes to town.

The Big Boys Toys show has been staged at venues up and down the Queens­land coast but this week­end will be the first time it has made its way to the Sun­shine Coast.

Or­gan­iser Ma­son Haenga said the event is “not just for the boys” with pre­vi­ous events at­tract­ing crowds of­ten com­pris­ing at least 50 per cent women.

“Toys don’t dis­crim­i­nate and nei­ther do we,” he said.

Mr Haenga said the event will have some­thing for ev­ery­one, in­clud­ing the kids.

“It’s more of an ex­pe­ri­ence rather than a static dis­play,” he said.

“We’re talk­ing four-wheel-drive ve­hi­cles, ev­ery type of mo­tor­cy­cle, kids’ bikes to learner bikes, jet-skis, boats. We’ve ac­tu­ally got a he­li­copter com­ing to this one as well.”

As well as the over-sized toys, the event will also fea­ture “gad­gets and giz­mos good for the man cave”.

Expo owner Lance Col­lyer said the en­ter­tain­ment on the day will also pro­vide some­thing for ev­ery­one.
