Liv­ing with lung can­cer in­for­ma­tion ses­sions

CAN­CER Council Queens­land and Lung Foun­da­tion Aus­tralia will hold an in­for­ma­tion ses­sion on the Sun­shine Coast this month for lo­cals liv­ing with lung can­cer.

The free ses­sion, Lung Can­cer and Lung Me­tas­tases, will pro­vide an op­por­tu­nity for peo­ple liv­ing with lung can­cer, and their car­ers, to hear about ther­apy op­tions, clin­i­cal tri­als and ways to man­age the chal­lenges of liv­ing with lung can­cer or lung me­tas­tases.

The ses­sion will be held on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 15 from 9.30am-12.30pm at Bloomhill Can­cer Care, 58 Ballinger Road, Bud­erim.

Can­cer Council Queens­land CEO Chris McMil­lan said it was the fourth year the two char­i­ties had pro­vided the ses­sion dur­ing In­ter­na­tional Lung Can­cer Aware­ness Month.

“Lung can­cer is the fifth most com­mon can­cer di­ag­nosed on the Sun­shine Coast and through this in­for­ma­tion ses­sion, we hope to of­fer in­for­ma­tion and prac­ti­cal sup­port for cop­ing with the ef­fects of lung can­cer or lung me­tas­tases,” Ms McMil­lan said.

“Not only will the sem­i­nar fea­ture health pro­fes­sion­als with spe­cial­ist ex­per­tise in is­sues re­lated to lung can­cer, but it will cre­ate an op­por­tu­nity for lo­cals to con­nect with oth­ers deal­ing with the same is­sues.”
