De­light in all things crafty at Christ­mas mar­kets

CALOUN­DRA Arts Cen­tre As­so­ci­a­tion’s Christ­mas Arts and Crafts Fair is on Satur­day, Novem­ber 11, 9am-4pm and Sun­day, Novem­ber 12, 9am-3pm at 5 North Street, Caloun­dra (be­hind Caloun­dra Wool­worths).

A won­der­ful ar­ray of qual­ity hand­crafted goods made by CACA mem­bers will be on sale.

This is a mar­vel­lous op­por­tu­nity to sup­port your lo­cal com­mu­nity and pick up some au­then­tic hand­made Aus­tralian prod­ucts for your­self or fam­ily and friends.

All rooms at the cen­tre

will be filled with an in­ter­est­ing and ex­cit­ing se­lec­tion of hand­i­crafts in­clud­ing pot­tery, wood­work, orig­i­nal art and pas­tels to hand­made lace, quilt­ing, em­broi­dery and jew­ellery (to name but a few).

Christ­mas is not far away so this is an ideal op­por­tu­nity to get in and pur­chase some hand­made Christ­mas dec­o­ra­tions, cards and gifts.

The cake stall fea­tur­ing gen­uine home­made good­ies, in­clud­ing pick­les, jams, slices and cakes is ex­tremely pop­u­lar and sells out very quickly. Plant stalls, pre-loved books and mag­a­zines will tempt the se­ri­ous browser with some great bar­gains.

Raf­fles will be avail­able for peo­ple to try their luck with won­der­ful prizes, in­clud­ing a gourmet food basket val­ued at $250.

Light re­fresh­ments are avail­able in­clud­ing de­li­cious fresh home­made sand­wiches and cakes, Devon­shire teas and a sausage siz­zle. Be en­ter­tained on Sun­day with musical high­lights from Sun­shine Coast Ukulele play­ers.

To com­mem­o­rate Re­mem­brance Day, over 500 hand­made pop­pies (knit­ted, cro­cheted and ce­ramic) will be on dis­play as well as other mem­o­ra­bilia and quilts. Vis­i­tors may pur­chase a poppy for a small do­na­tion with all pro­ceeds go­ing to Quilts of Valour Aus­tralia.
