Growing STEPS Nursery
More plants and much more variety
A RECENT expansion at Caloundra’s STEPS Nursery has seen a flourish of new stock with a wider variety of both indoor and more established plants.
The non-profit nursery received a grant from the Sunshine Coast Council for the expansion last year.
The grant helped to construct an additional shade house allowing the nursery to increase the amount and variety of indoor plant stock.
STEPS Nursery manager Lisa Buckley said the newly completed expansion came just in time as there has been a recent increase in demand for indoor plants among their customers.
“We are so appreciative of the council grant, the new shelter has allowed us to double the number in our range of indoor plants,” Lisa said.
“As well as that, we have extended our space and further increased our range in larger sized plants, these more established plants are suited to customers that are looking to create an instant garden or attain a certain look.”
All revenue from STEPS goes towards funding nursery projects designed to benefit the community.
The Sunshine Coast nursery provides students, volunteers and people with a disability with the opportunity to expand their gardening knowledge, experience and skills.
