Have say on online bullying

Sunshine Coast Daily - Caloundra Weekly - - LIFE LOCAL LIFE -

MEMBER for Glass House Andrew Powell encourages the people of the Sunshine Coast to have their say at a community consultation event on cyberbullying at the Lake Kawana Community Centre from 6pm on May 21.

Mr Powell said he was co-hosting the event with other local MPs so residents can provide their ideas on how best to tackle cyberbullying as a community.

“Ideas gathered at the consultation event will inform the work of the Queensland Anti-Cyberbullying Taskforce,” Mr Powell said.

“The taskforce is travelling the state, engaging with children, parents, schools, and community members as well as health and education experts to identify community-driven strategies to reduce cyberbullying.

“I firmly believe the best way to address a community-wide issue is with community-wide consultation.”

The taskforce will recommend an anticyberbullying framework to by August 31. Go to qld.gov.au/cyberbullying taskforce.
