Vote out of character
LOOKING back on half a century as a newspaper journalist, and having handled hundreds, no, thousands, of letters to the editor, I recall that the one that conveyed the shortest and sharpest message, whether yea or nay, was the most effective. Well in this letter, the only one I can recall having written, I will stick to that formula. This is the shortest I can manage. As for sharp pointedness dear reader, you must decide.
The subject, not so much the ugly Badderam name, but the Sunshine Coast councillors’ 9-1 vote for the ridiculously unsuitable plan to build something so out of character with the Buderim we love. — Peter Richardson
