FOL­LOW­ING a record-breaking year for Queens­land tourism, Sun­shine Coast busi­nesses are be­ing urged to put their hats in the ring for the hotly an­tic­i­pated 2018 Queens­land Tourism Awards, hosted by the Queens­land Tourism In­dus­try Coun­cil.

Last year’s awards re­sulted in the pop­u­lar­ity of the Sun­shine Coast net­ting lo­cal op­er­a­tors seven awards, in­clud­ing five for out­stand­ing ac­com­mo­da­tion, from a field of more than 200 top Queens­land tourism busi­nesses.

QTIC Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Daniel Gschwind said the 34th an­nual Queens­land Tourism Awards were set to be bet­ter than ever.

In­tro­duced last year, the RACQ Peo­ple’s Choice Award will again pro­vide the pub­lic with the op­por­tu­nity to have their say and vote for their favourite tourism ex­pe­ri­ence and ser­vice, or ac­com­mo­da­tion provider when sub­mis­sions have been fi­nalised in late-Au­gust.

Nominations close at 5pm on Thurs­day, May 31.

En­trants are en­cour­aged to make the most of the new, stream­lined on­line sub­mis­sion process.

Gold, sil­ver and bronze winners from the 28 Queens­land Tourism Awards cat­e­gories and the RACQ Peo­ple’s Choice Award will be an­nounced on Fri­day, Novem­ber 16.
