Funding grab for highway, rail

Sunshine Coast Daily - Caloundra Weekly - - LIFE BUSINESS - CALOUNDRA CHAMBER MICHAEL SHADFORTH

THE past few weeks have seen the Sunshine Coast secure access to over a billion dollars of vital infrastructure funding set to ease the congestion on the currently struggling highway and rail lines.

This funding will go towards the construction of a six-lane highway between Caloundra and Caboolture and the highly anticipated rail duplication project which could eventually see travel times between Brisbane and the Coast slashed to just 45 minutes.

With the Sunshine Coast’s population expected to grow to over 500,000 by 2041, these projects are logistically essential for our community’s ease of access to Brisbane as well as being an incredible catalyst for boosting our economy, increasing business confidence and bolstering economic growth.

Considering Caloundra’s proximity to Brisbane, these developments are particularly pertinent to our local businesses and community members.

As such it is vital that we as a community vocally embrace and support Member for Fairfax Ted O’Brien and Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace’s continued campaigns for increased infrastructure funding.

One method of support is to jump on Ted O’Brien’s Get on Board campaign
