Your pets feel the winter chill as much as we do

Sunshine Coast Daily - Caloundra Weekly - - LIFE LOCAL LIFE - 4PAWS JULIE PENLINGTON

ANGEL is a two year old ragdoll – she is a sweet cat that is truly deserving of a wonderful home.

Angel is gentle and would be fine with an equally gentle cat. She is looking for a quiet home with an owner who has previous experience as a super cat owner.

Please call 0400251396 or 0411144689 or go online at 4pawsanimalrescue.org.au to apply.

Winter is upon us and we must prepare our pets for the cold weather especially so if your dog lives outside.

Make sure your kennel is in a draught-free and dry place best under a patio or in your garage if you have access to an enclosed yard from the garage. Make sure the opening to the doghouse is not facing the wind.

Providing adequate shelter is vital.

An insulated kennel will provide warmth and keep your dog dry during and harsh chilling winds. Dog coats can also be a good way to protect your dog. For inside dogs that sleep in a bed on the floor place a slab of foam under the bed to insulate it from the tiles.

Or if your dogs are like my dogs just ask them politely to give you more than two inches on the edge of the bed.

Talk to your Vet about supplements if you have an arthritic dog.
