Striker on the move
FOOTBALL: Sunshine Coast’s Jacob Fulluck has linked with Preston Lions in the Victorian second tier, after impressing at Beerwah Glasshouse in the Sunshine Coast league.
The talented youngster has previously had stints at Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast Fire in the Queensland competition, and with Peninsula in the Brisbane premier division.
Now he’s set to test out his skills in Victoria, where his club is pressing for promotion into a well-regarded state league.
Beerwah Glasshouse coach Daniel Carew, who helps players pursue opportunities at higher levels, said the striker was heading there with more experience under his belt.
“He’s obviously grown,” Carew said.
“We’ve had him for two years and we’ve developed him a bit more, and mentally he’s more ready for it.
“It will be good for him to go down there and prove himself in Victoria and if he can do what we think he can do he will shine down there hopefully.”
Fulluck scored 19 goals from 15 outings last season and had four goals from as many matches this season before heading south.
Carew said Fulluck impressed Preston Lions when he trialled and he hoped the forward could make the most of his chances there.
Meanwhile, Beerwah Glasshouse fell to a 1–0 loss to Caloundra at Meridan Plains on Saturday night.
