A SCHIZOPHRENIC, drug addicted man has been left to “dry out” in prison after a trip to McDonalds ended in trouble.

Christian Ryan Blomfield appeared in Maroochydore Magistrates Court yesterday via video link and pleaded guilty to single counts of trespass, public nuisance and failing to appear in court.

Blomfield was banned from the Nambour McDonalds in September, but just 10 days later appeared at the restaurant and refused to leave before trying to fight staff at the adjacent train station.

Then in October, he failed to appear in court for unrelated offences.

Blomfield told the court in his defence, he had only committed three crimes in the six months he’d been out of prison and described himself as “very messed up”.

Magistrate Ron Madsen expressed frustration that Blomfield had appeared drug and alcohol affected when attending mental health appointments, saying the service was of little help if he continued to use.

He was sentenced to one month imprisonment to “dry out and get off the juice”.
