Just imagine

Sunshine Coast Daily - - NEWS OPINION -

JUST imagine if, instead of responding to public pressure by taking back control of the Mooloolaba foreshore camping ground to convert it to open public space, council had decided to leave it there for the restricted use of a small minority.

Can’t imagine that? No? Neither can I.

Just imagine if, instead of deploying patrols and speed cameras to deter or catch the minority of drivers speeding on a particular street, police had responded to resident concerns by limiting use of that street to cars with two people on board (or drivers with red hair and glasses).

Can’t imagine that? No? Neither can I.

Just imagine if, instead of responding to a small number of complaints about unruly dog behaviour by educating and dealing with (warning/fining) the few irresponsible owners, council proposed to limit access to a significant section of our beach to only on-leash dogs.

Can you imagine that? No, neither can I – and clearly nor can the more than 4000 people who signed Stephanie Wilson’s online petition against the proposal. — LEIGH BAKER Bokarina
