ELIGIBLE singles have put themselves out there in the search for love.

Plenty of bachelors and bachelorettes entered the Sunshine Coast Daily’s eligible singles competition in the hope of finding that special someone, and now it’s up to you to choose your favourites.

Twenty-seven singles let the Daily know what they’re searching for in that special someone and what their perfect date would entail.

Two frontrunners have emerged since voting opened last Thursday.

Brendan West never intended to be the Coast’s most eligible bachelor, but was nominated by some colleagues as a bit of a prank.

“The girls from work entered me without my previous knowledge, and I woke up to an interesting few messages from a few friends,” he said.

“At the time it was a bit of a shock, and not something I’d normally do ... but it was all good fun.”

The 21-year-old WIN News cameraman has so far scored 50 per cent of votes for the Coast’s favourite bachelor.

While he’s not driving around the Coast filming news stories, he’s also training to be an auxiliary firefighter.

“On the job we see a lot obviously, and I wanted to give back in a stronger way,” he said.

“I met a bloke on the job and he introduced me to the Landsborough Rural Fire Station.

“Last week I just completed my minimal firefighter certificate, so I can now respond to all callouts to the station.

“It’s pretty busy already, but there’s always time for more.

“I love it. It’s a good thing to do as well.”

While Mr West has quite a busy schedule, he said he would always find time for a special lady.

“There’s always night-time, and after hours,” he laughed.

“The person that is going to

‘‘ I’D LOVE A FEW BEERS MAYBE UP THE BEACH ON A 4WD TRIP OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, NICE AND RELAXED. BRENDAN WEST

be with me will be woken up quite a bit obviously when I’m on call for WIN and if I have to go to call-outs for fires.

“But, yes, there’s always time for that special someone.”

Mr West is looking for someone outgoing, but relaxed, who loves a beer and the outdoors.

“I’d love a few beers maybe up the beach on a 4WD trip or something like that, nice and relaxed,” he said.

Bronte Moyle is the Coast’s leading bachelorette so far, and she couldn’t be happier.

The 20-year-old hairdresser and makeup artist is looking to find someone who can be the life of the party and is ready to take the next step into adulthood.

“My ideal date would be with someone who can have a laugh and a joke. I don’t mind where we go, it’s more about the conversation,” she said.

Voting closes next Wednesday at midnight, and we will announce the winners on Thursday before setting the winning bachelor and bachelorette up on their first date.
