Lookout upgrade on drawing board
PLANNING for a $300,000 upgrade of the Henry Ross Lookout on Kuranda Range Road has begun.
Member for Barron River Craig Crawford said the upgrade was part of the Palaszczuk Government’s $3.2 million Scenic Lookout Upgrade Program.
“The Henry Ross Lookout is a popular stop for many visitors and locals driving through the Kuranda Range,” he said.
“The view back over the cane fields and out to the Great Barrier Reef is an iconic Far North Queensland panorama.”
Mr Crawford said Transport and Main Roads would consult with key stakeholders before finalising the design.
Work will be carried out by RoadTek and is expected to be completed by late June, weather permitting.
