COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR OFFENCES
JACK Lawson pleaded guilty in the Mareeba Magistrate Court on Monday to one count of contravention of domestic violence order and possessing dangerous drugs. Lawson was driving on the highway when police pulled him over. He consented to a vehicle search which resulted in police locating drugs under the driver’s side of the vehicle. Several bags with a crystal type substance were also found by police which totalled 10.7 grams of methamphetamines. The Gold Coast man is currently on a probation order and intends to return to the Gold Coast to find work. A conviction was recorded and he is disqualified from obtaining a driver’s licence for six months. He was also ordered to complete 240 hours of community service.
