Gear­ing up to be­come a stu­dent

BI­BOOHRA State School’s new­est and youngest stu­dents have ex­plored their new sur­rounds and been given a taste of life in the class­room ahead of their tran­si­tion into prep next year.

The small school wel­comed sev­eral kindy stu­dents and their fam­i­lies to the school on Fri­day for an open day.

To date 11 stu­dents have en­rolled for prep at the school for 2018 and will be un­der the guid­ance of teacher Jan CoisTul­loch and teacher aide Tracy Acha. As part of the prep open day the new stu­dents joined a class for some ac­tiv­i­ties while par­ents at­tended a pre­sen­ta­tion about trani­si­tion­ing into school, de­liv­ered by Ev­ery Fam­ily co-or­di­na­tor Toni Ia­cu­tone from VPG.

Bi­boohra State School cur­rently has 90 stu­dents en­rolled, com­ing from Bil­won through to Mt Mol­loy.

Prin­ci­pal David King said the tight-knit school was look­ing for­ward to wel­com­ing new stu­dents and fam­i­lies in the new year.

“You’re not just en­rolling a child, you’re en­rolling a fam- ily,” he said.
