DRIVING OVER THE LIMIT
Linda Johnson appeared in court on Monday August 14 charged with two driving offences. On April 23 at Smithfield about 4.38pm police pulled Johnson over and conducted an RBT. She returned a positive reading of 0.066 and was found to be driving with a suspended licence. Johnson said in court that she had been going through family court and has had to relocate and wasn’t aware that her licence had been suspended due to fines not being paid. As far as she knew her fines were being paid through Centrepay and she was not aware it had stopped. She said she had three beers prior to driving and didn’t think she was over the limit. Magistrate Tom Braes said if you are going to drink don’t drive. She was fined $600 and disqualified from holding a licence for one month.
