Bulls’ tails up ahead of Comets

Tablelands Advertiser - - SPORT -

THE Mareeba Bulls season will be on the line this weekend when they host the Southside Comets on Saturday night.

The Bulls are on the back of a three game unbeaten run and will need to make it four if they are to make it into the finals.

Coach Alex Srhoj said a draw or a loss will mean the end of the premier men’s season, but the Bulls have looked back to their best and are in form at the right stage of the season.

He said they are confident they can bring the Comets back down to earth and keep their season alive.

“We are used to the pressure, we train hard, we prepare well and we give ourselves every opportunity to perform well and get the result we want,” he said.

“We can beat anyone in the league, we just need to make sure we all turn up, we all tick the boxes, do the little things right and we will be OK.

“We had a big week last week, worked out and were perhaps a little flat come Sunday, but this week we will be fresh and match ready.”

Friday night the action starts at 6.30pm with the first of the two second division men’s games, with the second at 8.30pm. Meanwhile on Saturday, the ladies kick off at 3pm, the reserves at 5pm and the premier men at 7pm. The Bulls 2nd division Orange is up against the Atherton Eagles.
