Bulls wait for game results
THE Mareeba Bulls will spend the weekend playing the waiting game as results of matches in the final round will dictate their fate in the premier men’s and reserve grade competitions.
While the club’s second division Orange side have secured third spot and a home semifinal against the Atherton Eagles, the men’s premier and reserves need help to ensure they progress.
The premiers need arch-rivals the Stratford Dolphins to win against the Innisfail Cutters by two goals to sneak into fourth spot via goal differential. Meanwhile the men’s reserves require Marlin Coast Rangers to lose by no more than 11 goals.
Where they finish in the top four will depend on Edge Hill beating the Southside Comets, which is expected, while the Stratford Dolphins host the premiership winners Innisfail.
Depending on results, Mareeba could finish third or fourth or even be pushed out via goal difference.
The club’s second division Orange travel down to Edge Hill tonight looking to find some form ahead of the semifinals, while the second division Black will travel down to Innisfail in their last game of the season.
The ladies will travel down to James Cook Uni on Saturday looking to go out winners when they take on the JCU Strikers. The club’s only confirmed home semi-final is next Friday night against the Atherton Eagles in the men’s second division competition.
