OFFICER STOOD DOWN
A 50-year-old police constable from Mareeba has been stood down from official duty and will be tasked to perform nonoperational duties. The officer has been issued with a Notice to Appear before the Mareeba Magistrates Court for off-duty conduct concerning alleged weapons offences. The Queensland Police Service said informing the public of such incidents was in keeping with a commitment to transparency and accountability. It stressed that the allegations against the officer had not been substantiated.
