WOMAN GUILTY OF DRIVING OFFENCES
Veronica Alpin pleaded guilty to three charges which occurred on September 16 in Mareeba. Appearing in court on Monday September 18 Alpin was charged with one count of driving an unregistered car, one count of driving a motor vehicle whilst over the general alcohol limit but not over the middle alcohol limit and one count of driving a motor vehicle without a licence. Police Prosecutor Sergeant Karen Equinox said Alpin was pulled over by police and had occupants in the car who seemed to be intoxicated. “The car was unregistered by eight days, the breath test she returned has a blood alcohol level of 0.09 (per cent) and a licence test has shown that Alpin’s licence has expired.” She was fined a total of $750 and disqualified from holding a Queensland driver’s licence for six months.
