Hous­ing mar­ket trends over the last 12 months

A slight rise in Ma­reeba’s hous­ing prices is wel­comed but the over­all mar­ket is still strug­gling.

There has been 150 houses sold in Ma­reeba in the past 12 months with a me­dian sale price of $312,000. This falls short $200,000 of the na­tional aver­age which is $485,000.

The me­dian price change in the past year is up 0.73 per cent how­ever, it still falls short of the na­tional aver­age 4.30 per cent.

With 209 houses cur­rently sit­ting on the mar­ket, it is a tough time for home­own­ers look­ing to sell their prop­er­ties. The fig­ures show that on aver­age it takes 125 days to sell a house with ven­dors dis­count­ing prop­er­ties by 7.19 per cent.

Renters are in a sim­i­lar po­si­tion as the rental prices in Ma­reeba fall just be­low the na­tional aver­age. The rental prices in Ma­reeba are cur­rently $335 per week with the na­tional aver­age of $395. The aver­age me­dian prices in Ma­reeba is 5.6 per cent, sit­ting above the na­tional aver­age of 4.24 per cent.
