BUSINESSES in Mareeba will step into the spotlight with the bi-annual Mareeba Business Awards this Saturday night.

This year’s Mareeba Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards night will be changed up with new awards up for grabs and the popular People’s Choice Awards still making an appearance.

Mareeba Chamber of Commerce president Joe Moro said this year’s awards night is going to be bigger and better than ever however there is still room for improvement in the future.

Mr Moro said the Go for Gold themed night aimed to encourage business and growth within the region and to improve businesses as a whole.

“The awards is more about acknowledging good businesses and good service to customers,” he said.

“Everyone who has been nominated all deserve to win and they are all winners to me.”

He said the theme Go for Gold for the awards night would also be the same theme for this year’s economic snapshot coming out in December.

The awards night will be held tomorrow night at the Mareeba RSL from 6pm until late.
