Scottish players get hot suprise
THE Scotland Rugby League World Cup team spiced up their trip to Australia with a visit to Kuranda Village.
While being a little squeamish with the snakes, players got up close and personal with koalas and kangaroos.
Tourism Kuranda executive officer Kahlia Pepper said the highlight was when players visited the Kuranda Scottish Fudge Bar.
Kuranda Fudge bar is a little piece of Scotland tucked away in North Queensland and is home to a popular range of homemade fudge.
Ms Pepper said the players were asked if they wanted to try a piece of fudge but were not informed that what they were trying was the Dark Chocolate Chili (hot) Fudge.

With the hot fudge being made especially for the Scotland Rugby League World cup team, Ms Pepper said players had a great time seeing what Kuranda had to offer.
“They didn’t get told that the fudge had chilli in it and were just asked to try it so players were surprised,” she said.
“It was a good start to the day to fire them up.”
While the trip wasn’t widely promoted, once word spread around Kuranda Village of the players football fans were quick to arrive with their balls to be signed.
The Scottish team enjoyed the Kuranda Koala Garden on their tour to cuddle a Koala and snake and to pat a kangaroo.
Ms Pepper said all the players were afraid of snakes expect for two.
“They walked around Heritage markets where they were shown how to through a boomerang and how to play the didgeridoo,” she said.
“Players even bought gifts for their families back at home before heading down to experience the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.
“The boys had such an amazing time and we were privileged to be able to host them and show them this beautiful and unique Village in the Rainforest.”
She said it is great to have sporting legends visiting the village.
