MOTORSPORTS fans will have the chance to imitate professional drivers with the Formula Vee racing day at the Mareeba Makotrac International Racetrack, tomorrow.

The 1200cc and 1600cc cars will be in action on the track at 52 Springs Rd Mareeba, allowing racers to feel the same thrill as Formula 1 professional drivers.

Formula Vee event organiser Tobia Kipper said the 10 spots available were almost filled and hopefully there would be some great racing for spectators.

“The spots filled up so quickly, we have had eight drivers confirm and if people are interested they’d better get in quick,” he said.

Drivers will be required to attend the track at 10am for a theory session, followed by a short practice run before racing starts.

Mr Kipper said the total price to race would be $250 per person and there were specific height and weight requirements.

“The minimum height is 165cm, maximum is 190cm and maximum weight is 120 kg,” he said.

Racers will need a valid GoKart Action licence. Enquires call 4092 5788.
