Cricketers eye grand final berth
MAREEBA ladies T20 cricketers will be looking to make history when they play Innisfail in the grand final.
This Saturday’s grand final would be the first time a Mareeba ladies side would be playing under lights.
Mareeba coach and player Trish Spry said she was excited for the final but was facing a selection headache.
“We will be playing in the big leagues on Saturday,” she said.
“The ladies we have are all great but I have the tough job of picking our best 11 players.”
The Mareeba side had an undefeated season and will be looking to wrap up the grand final in a similar fashion.
The grand final will be played at the Walker Road Sporting and Recreation Precinct in Edmonton, Cairns kicking off at 7pm.
