Tablelands Advertiser - - NEWS -

WITH school holidays starting for all Queensland schools this Friday the community needs to be mindful of a few things. Children: Tablelands Police would like to remind motorists to slow down and drive to conditions, this not only means weather conditions but also children playing in residential streets. Slow down and expect the unexpected, children are unpredictable and don’t stop to think about cars when they are chasing that ball that got away from them. Parents are also reminded to provide adequate supervision for children over the school holiday break. Historically there has been a spike in offences ranging from trespass to theft by unsupervised children.

Installing electrical timers that will automatically turn lights on and off in your home can be a great deterrent to intruders. A final check of all external doors and windows before you leave the house and disconnecting the remote control and electronic garage doors can save you heartache later. Holidays: Are you going on holidays? If your answer is yes, then you need to think about a few things. If you are driving this holiday season, have you serviced your vehicle lately? Do you have everything you need? We want everyone to have a safe holiday and to make alternative means of transport if drinking.
