Mutchilba farms sold in sweet deal
TWO farms in Mutchilba have recently been acquired by Manbulloo Ltd.
The properties are located at 57 Campbell Road and 62 West Dawson Road Mutchilba.
The properties were formerly owned and operated by Ruth Taylor and boast stunning views across the Tablelands. Colliers International rural selling agent Deborah Godfrey said the farms feature plantings of multiple mango varieties as well as avocadoes which are well known in the industry for producing excellent quality fruit.
Managing Director Marie Piccone purchased Manbulloo’s first mango farm in the Katherine region of the Northern Territory back in 2005 and has been steadily growing the family-owned business ever since.
Manbulloo is an Australian company which is know for their Kensington Pride mangoes which are grown on six farms across Australia.
Being the largest growers of mangoes, their farms are about 80 percent Kensington Prides and 20 per cent R2E2 Mangoes.
Their oldest and largest farm, Manbulloo Katherine has about 65,000 mango trees. The farm occupies four square kilometres and is located 22 kilometres outside of Katherine in Australia’s Northern Territory.
They also have five additional farms in Far North Queensland
In 2015 Marie was awarded the Entrepreneur Award at Telstra’s Female Business Women’s Awards and in 2016, Manbulloo signed an 8-year contract to exclusively supply to Coles supermarkets within Australia.
