The Tablelands Relay For Life volunteer committee will be at the Mareeba Markets this Saturday to help launch the 2018 Cancer Council Queensland event. Tablelands Relay For Life committee and CCQ staff will be at the markets at Centenary Park from 9am tomorrow. This year’s theme for Tablelands Relay, held November 10 at Davies Park, Mareeba is Cancer Commandos – Fighting the fight against cancer, and remembering loved ones lost.
Cancer Council Queensland CEO Ms Chris McMillan said the launch was a chance to learn more about Relay For Life and raise awareness for the cause.
“Come down, meet the committee, find out what Relay For Life is all about and get your teams registered for 2018, or turn purple next week to help spread awareness,” he said.
Tablelands Relay For Life is a nine hour event where teams keep a baton moving in a relaystyle walk or run overnight, to raise funds. Locals who attend the launch can register for Tablelands Relay For Life for just $10 per person. Registration price will then return to $20 until August 18, and $30 thereafter. To register for Tablelands Relay For Life visit relayforlife.org.au or by calling 1300 65 65 85.
