Season to socialise for dairy industry

Tasmanian Country - - NEWS -

AFTER a challenging year young dairy farmers will get a chance cheer to network over some Christmas cheer.

DairyTas and the Young Dairy Network are hosting Christmas socials for young dairy farmers across Tasmania.

Youth Dairy Network coordinator Jacki Hine said the socials were an opportunity for 18-35 year olds in the dairy industry to socialise.

“It’s been a very challenging 12 months for the dairy industry and it’s important for us to get together, talk about the hardships we’ve overcome and what next year might hold.

“Getting a night out can be really rewarding. It’s important for maintaining friendships and networks.”

Ms Hine hoped the community would spread the word, asking neighbours and friends to come along.

Gatherings will be held in Burnie on December 6 at Wellers Inn, in Smithton on December 7 at Agritas, in Deloraine on December 8 at Empire Hotel and in Scottsdale on December 9 at Kendalls Hotel. Events start from 6.30pm and include free dinner. RSVP to Ms Hine on 0429 698 168 or jhine@dairyaus
