De­mand drops for most cat­tle

A HEAV­IER yard­ing of cat­tle was of­fered at Roberts’ Quoiba sale on Wed­nes­day.

This week’s sale saw lower prices across the yard­ing, with the ex­cep­tion of ex­cep­tion­ally well-fin­ished tradeweight cat­tle lots.

The sale high of 352c/kg was for the best pen of trade heifers.

Prices for pro­cess­ing cows eased this week af­ter a strong re­cent run.

Heavy beef cows reached a top of 232c/kg and were selling from 180c/kg.

Dairy-breed cows sold from 100c/kg to 182c/kg.

Trade steers sold from 260c/kg to a top of 330c/kg.

Trade heifers made from 270c/kg to 352c/kg.

Bul­locks sold from 220c/kg to 264c/kg while heavy trade steers made from 270c/kg to 334c/kg. Heavy heifers made 250c/kg to 320c/kg.
