Drop for heavy lambs, mutton
DEMAND dropped for the best lambs at Roberts’ Quoiba sale on Monday as a slightly lighter yarding was offered.
Heavy lambs reached a top of $161 per head and sold from $142 each.
Mediumweight lambs were selling for $131 to $145 each and light lines made from $100 to $120 each.
Mutton prices eased slightly and ranged from $50 to a top of $80 for heavy sheep.
A big yarding of bobby calves saw prices hold to recent trends, with beef-cross calves ranging from $150 and topping at $405.
There was a heavier offering of 50 pork and prices for all lines were a shade softer tha last week.
Best pork sold from $220 to $285 per head while lighter pigs made $150 to $210.
