Funds aim to grow busi­nesses

A PROJECT pro­vid­ing fi­nan­cial work­shops and coach­ing to take ad­van­tage of agribusi­ness op­por­tu­ni­ties is among the re­cip­i­ents in a new state grant pro­gram.

Pri­mary In­dus­tries and Wa­ter Min­is­ter Jeremy Rock­liff yes­ter­day an­nounced the first tranche of $917,000 in the Strate­gic In­dus­try Part­ner­ships Pro­gram with $1.2 mil­lion com­mit­ted in the 20172018 State Bud­get.

Ru­ral Busi­ness Tas­ma­nia and Wine Tas­ma­nia re­ceived $150,000, the Tas­ma­nian Agri­cul­tural Pro­duc­tiv­ity Group $60,000, Poppy Grow­ers Tas­ma­nia $7,000, DairyTas $70,000, Fruit Grow­ers Tas­ma­nia $120,00, the Tas­ma­nian Farm­ers and Gra­ziers As­so­ci­a­tion’s $310,000 for a biose­cu­rity pro­gram and the Tas­ma­nian Seafood In­dus­try Coun­cil re­ceived $50,000.
