Kirk­dale to host on- site lamb sale at Evan­dale

KIRK­DALE Stud at Rid­ge­side, Evan­dale, is the sec­ond old­est reg­is­tered South­down stud in Aus­tralia.

Now run by fifth gen­er­a­tion Andrew Hog­a­rth, the flock cur­rently con­sists of close to 100 ewes.

Fo­cus is on pro­duc­ing struc­turally sound, smooth shoul­dered, long bod­ied and well­mus­cled rams with the aim of easy lamb­ing and pro­duc­ing fast grow­ing lambs for the prime lamb in­dus­try.

Kirk­dale had an­other suc­cess­ful year in the show ring, ex­hibit­ing re­serve Cham­pion South­down ram, Royal Launce­s­ton Show, Re­serve Cham­pion South­down ram, Na­tional South­down show, Gee­long, and also tak­ing out supreme South­down ex­hibit at Royal Ho­bart Show.

For the first time, the stud is hav­ing an on-prop­erty ram sale on Novem­ber 16, con­ducted by Webb & Wood­i­wiss Live­stock Mar­ket­ing.
