Back with a bang for title

Tasmanian Country - - NEWS -

A RETIRED blacksmith returned to competition to take out the Tasmanian sheepdog trials title at Campbell Town.

Justin Pinner, of Westbury, who only returned to dog trialling about 12 months ago after a health scare, combined with dog Native Rock Quinn to win the open championship last weekend.

He last won the title in 2010 working with Mocara Charlie.

“The state open championships do raise your blood pressure, but to win this is fantastic,” Mr Pinner said.

“I’ve only been in two open trials and to win both is rewarding.”

Mr Pinner aims to earn enough points to represent Tasmania interstate.

He said Native Rock Quinn was a lovely dog to work with.

Mr Pinner will next compete on December 9-10 at Exeter at the northern Tasmanian championships.
