Young talent time at show
SOME of Tasmania’s best cattle handlers, judges and producers will be vying for prizes at tomorrow’s Circular Head Show.
The show at Stanley will this year host the state junior handler titles for beef and dairy and the state final for junior judging.
Another popular feature will be the on-the-hoof section of the show’s annual carcass competition with about 70 cattle entered by some of the state’s best beef producers.
Judging of this section will kick off at 10am.
The exhibition hall will also be a highlight, with a category for novice cooks who have never won a first prize in the home produce section.
The show will also include equestrian events, wood chopping, working bullocks, animal nursery and a grand parade held at 3pm.
The theme this year is Know Your Meat Cuts with experts and demonstrations.
Cost is $10, $5 for children up to 14 with under-fives free.
