Solutions for organic grains

Tasmanian Country - - THE STOCK REPORT -

THE Tasmanian Organic Network and Cradle Coast Natural Resource Management are holding an information evening on organic grain production on Wednesday.

The event is on from 6pm at the Cradle Coast Authority office in 1-3 Spring St, Burnie.

Regional Landcare facilitator and sustainable agriculture extension officer Tom O’Malley from Cradle Coast NRM said the rising number of organic dairy farms in the state’s North and North-West meant it was becoming difficult to source organic Tasmanian grain as a supplementary feed during tougher pasture seasons.

Mr O’Malley said the event aimed to provide a networking space and forum for discussion for producers.
