Sheep numbers lead the way up

THERE were more lambs about this week and prices held to re­cent lev­els at Roberts’ Quoiba sale on Monday.

This week’s sale high was $166 per head for a pen of heavy­weight lambs.

Hevy lambs were sell­ing from $140 to the top of $166 each while medium lines were mak­ing from $125 to $145 and lighter lambs from $85 to $126.

This week a heavy yard­ing of mut­ton was on of­fer with prices top­ping at $116 per head for heavy mut­ton.

A very good line of store lambs were yarded, top­ping at $117 each.

There was a lighter of­fer­ing of 40 pigs and prices were $5 to $10 per head dearer.

Best pork sold from $230 to $285 each while lighter pigs made from $170 to 220. ROBERTS sold in to­tal 126 cat­tle and 2139 sheep and lambs at this week’s Powranna sale on Tuesday.
