Late last year, it was re­vealed that hack­ers gained ac­cess to al­most a bil­lion Ya­hoo users’ de­tails in March 2013, and as we’ve re­cently learned, some of our high-rank­ing politi­cians, judges and de­fence of­fi­cials were among them. In­for­ma­tion from US se­cu­rity com­pany In­foAr­mor in­di­cated that more than 3,000 of the lo­gin de­tails were linked with Aus­tralian Gov­ern­ment ac­counts, which is par­tic­u­larly trou­bling con­sid­er­ing the amount of time hack­ers have had to ex­ploit this.
