TRACK YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA USAGE, THEN ATTEMPT TO CURB IT Free | antisocial.io

- [ SHAUN PRESCOTT ]

This Melbourne-developed app offers the slightly enervating but nonetheless useful convenience of tracking your social media usage. It does so in the name of measuring how addicted you are and helping you curb it. Once you’ve learned that you spend five more minutes per day than the average person on Facebook, maybe you’ll take the initiative to stop. It doesn’t just cover social media: you can track music listening, texting and more, with the app initiating a 14-day tracking period when installed in order to measure your general usage. Once that’s done, the ability to blacklist phone features and apps will unlock, as well as time limits which shut apps down when exceeded. The stats and charts are quite granular, providing a to-the-second result for the amount of time spent in each app, as well as device unlocks. For example, between 8am and 9am, I opened my phone five times (I’m addicted to GIFs of cats whipping dogs).

Highly recommended if you love stats and hate wasting your precious time.
