There’s plenty of speculation as to the reason, but what’s important is that PlayStation VR has beat out the Vive and Rift to become the first major tethered headset to get official support for the YouTube VR app. With more and more 360° video hitting YouTube, PSVR will now support both 3D and monoscopic video in this format and allow you to immerse yourself in the footage, albeit from a single, fixed point — unlike VR apps, videos don’t allow for any viewpoint movement.
