SONY’S SOLD A MILLION PLAYSTATION VR UNITS

Despite launching after the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive in October last year, the PSVR was the first PC or console VR to sell more than a million units worldwide, according to an announcement by Sony in June. The research firm SuperData estimated back in February that the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift sold only 420,000 and 243,000 in 2016 against the PSVR’s estimated 915,000, despite the former launching much earlier in April and March, respectively.
