TRY ANDROID O NOW

-

While the developer preview has been available for quite a while, installing it isn’t simple, and it’s not a good choice for an everyday phone. But now Google has rolled out a beta program with simple overthe-air updates. The biggest stumbling block is the need for a compatible phone. The beta is available for users with a Pixel or Pixel XL, Nexus 5X and 6P, the Nexus player and the Pixel C laptop. Actually getting the beta is super easy — head to android.com/beta and sign up. You’ll need to sign into your account and select your compatible device, then sit back and wait for the update. Further updates will happen as normal, and you can always drop out from the beta if you want. For those who opted into the beta program for Nougat, you need to do it again for Android O. The other option is to download the image file from Google and flash it to your device manually. You can read the full instructions and grab the files from the Android Developers site ( developer.android.com/preview/download.html).
