Smart­watches that can make calls, send mes­sages and trig­ger Siri or the Google As­sis­tant on your phone are com­mon­place nowa­days, but what if you could get all that in an even more com­pact pack­age? We’ve seen many de­signs of smart rings come and go — and most of them have hon­estly looked a lit­tle ridicu­lous — but the ORii pos­sesses a sleek(er) screen­less de­sign, is splash proof, light­weight, durable, pro­vides LED and vi­bra­tion-style no­ti­fi­ca­tions and comes in three dif­fer­ent colours (white, grey and white-and-black). It also in­tro­duces the “mag­i­cal spy-like ex­pe­ri­ence” of bone con­duc­tion tech­nol­ogy — namely, touch your fin­ger to your ear and the ORii will send you clear au­dio through your fin­ger, util­is­ing the same tech found in hear­ing aids, mak­ing this po­ten­tially in­valu­able when tak­ing a call in a loud en­vi­ron­ment. How­ever, de­spite its uses, we can’t help but think this whole smart-ring thing is just not go­ing to take off with the gen­eral pub­lic — not when they’re still this huge, at least.
