TEACH KIDS ABOUT ELECTRONICS WITH PLAY DOUGH.will | Goal: US$50,000 Raised: US$72,114 from 650 backers RRP: From US$50

Play dough is now being used to help younglings learn the basics of electronics. Dough Universe allows kids to experiment in the realms of science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (or ‘STEAM’ principles) with dozens of story-based activities available through the companion app. By creating little race cars, robots, snakes, dragons, pianos, drums and keytars, kids can get a basic understanding of how an electric circuit works and — best of all — they get to see their design take shape and come to life. The app takes them through the process step by step, whether that’s on the road to creating their own little robot friend or to rocking out on their own set of dough drums. Each Dough Universe package comes with a ‘Move Controller’ which is the brawn behind the magic, providing the electric current that sparks a robot into life or makes the penguins shine. So many toys are centred on teaching the next generation coding and the skills necessary for our technologically-advanced future, and this is one of the most attractive and hands-on creations that we’ve seen.
