Brilliant Lighting Remote RGB Globe

SMARTHOME LIGHTING CAN be great, but it can also be oh so frustrating if your network doesn’t want to play nice. The Brilliant Lighting RGB Globe takes a less smart, but still useful approach by ditching the Wi-Fi. Instead, it includes an IR remote, that allows you to directly switch the light on and off, and control the brightness, as well as the RGB colour. It also has options such as flashing, strobe and fading for some interesting party effects. Brightness adjustments are limited to four different levels and 16 different colours.

While the bulb can’t link into your Google Home,or turn itself on and off to a schedule, it is simple to use, and only costs $27. The bulb itself is rated at 5W, so is better suited to a lamp rather than providing light for a large room. It also is only available using the E27 screw style fitting, so is not good for older light sockets. The remote control uses two AA batteries, which are not included.
