CHANGING YOUR MIND
ONCE YOU’VE INSTALLED THE FALL CREATORS UPDATE, YOU’RE GIVEN A PERIOD OF 10 DAYS TO TEST OUT THE NEW FEATURES.
If, during that time, you don’t like the update, or there are problems that prevent your PC from working, then you can easily roll back to a previous version of Windows 10.
To do this, go to ‘Settings > Update & security > Recovery’ and click on ‘Get started’ under where it says ‘Go back to the previous version of Windows 10’. A window will appear asking you why you want to revert to a previous version. Answer the question (this helps Microsoft improve future versions of Windows), then click ‘No, thanks’ from the next window. This is where you’ll be asked you if you want to check for any updates.
Click ‘Next’ on the window that follows, then ‘Next’ again, making sure you have your Windows login details handy. Then click ‘Go back to earlier build’ and the Fall Creators Update will uninstall itself.
After the 10-day ‘trial’ period has elapsed, you won’t be able to roll back the Fall Creators Update — you’ll need to do a full Windows 10 reinstall instead.
