IT’S NOT JUST FOR WORD DOCUMENTS ANYMORE. Free | find-and-re Find & Replace for Text Editing — a mouthful to say out loud — is a lot more versatile than many other search-and-replace text plugins. This one works with webmail clients, as well as with content management systems (like blog sites) and forum fields, plus includes time-saving functions like templates and saved search histories.

Find & Replace is available for both Chrome and Firefox, and like most plugins, just requires a single click to install and you’re up and running. In fact, you’ll even get a tutorial when you use the plugin for the first time, which isn’t necessary if you’re using it for basic searching and replacing. It works the same way as the function on a Word document or on Google Drive, but you can save search queries you use regularly or save an entire phrase, sentence or paragraph you need often as a template. The latter is a handy feature when it comes to using multiple email signatures or saving personal details to pop into forum fields.
