WINDOWS HAS GROWN into a complicated beast, with a lot going on at once, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be fast and productive. There are a lot of time-saving shortcuts baked in to speed up your work, and even if you’re just moving files about, you’ll find something to shave a few seconds off.

There are lots of tips for clearing out the cruft and concentrating on what you’re meant to be doing. Here, we’ve collected together some of the best, including speedy keyboard shortcuts, rapid currency conversion, organisation on the double and a dubious Registry hack that will speed up your emoji use.

Windows was always meant to be productive, and while its bells and whistles can sometimes get in the way, at heart, it’s a good working environment that just needs a few tweaks to make it into a great one.
